Kazan

Kazan is the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. It is also known as the 'Third Capital' of Russia. Kazan is well-known for the Tatar culture and the neighbourhood of many religions. One of the outstanding mathematicians of the 18th century - Nikolai Lobachevsky - lived and worked in Kazan.
